Endings and New Beginnings

As we sense an ending in our lives, it is normal to feel a certain amount of grief and a bit of anxiety for what may come. Afterall, we're about to step into "unknown territory" and that can be a daunting prospect. Moving out of what had become our comfort zone can be a challenge but life changes all the time. We either go with the flow or resist the change and stay stuck where we are.

Change is a part of life and we are always exiting and entering new "chapters" to the story that is our life. When my husband passed, facing that dramatic change was frightening but I had to face it and move with it. All my screaming, fighting, crying didn't change the fact that he was not here and I had to go on with life and raise our children. Nothing was going to bring him physically back to me so it was either move forward or die with him...so I chose to move forward (with his help but that's for another discussion..lol) .

One of the great things about change is that it's an opportunity to learn more about ourselves and thus, we grow and benefit from the process. And now, I'm facing another change....the change of midlife. Instead of complaining about what's not the same, I am learning to appreciate the changes taking place...the new windows of opportunity that I can choose to peer through or walk away from. This time is referred to in the East as the "Second Spring" and when I read that, I smiled. I get to bloom again....how delicious is that? So, who's blooming with me?
