Until recently it’s been understood that we come into this world with pre-set DNA and we’re stuck with it. In fact, most people - if their genetic markers contain positive predispositions for things like heart disease, cancer, or early death - have felt like victims of their DNA.
But recent research is providing convincing evidence that we can actually change our DNA and change the outcome of our life trajectories.
If you want more information, be sure to read up on this.
Meanwhile, these are the important points I want you to take in right now:
The field of epigenetics is rapidly expanding our understanding of DNA influencers and how you can change them (epigenetics is the study of changes in gene function that do not involve changes in DNA sequence). And this means that you CAN change your DNA.
Among many other organizations, the Institute of HeartMath in Boulder City, Califo
ia has been researching the ability to change our DNA through consciously changing how we experience our relationship to our heartspace.
Following from evidence of their research (see the related site link above), it’s clear that we would all be wise to develop a daily habit of appreciation. Why? Because consciously experienced appreciation is a positive emotion that can connect us more closely with the positive energy of our heart. And evidence indicates that experiencing positive emotionally connected heart energy can change our DNA.
So, no matter how frustrating your work can be, no matter how irritating your team members can be, how would your day improve if you developed the habit of replacing annoyance with gratitude that:
- you have the job
- you have the income
- you enjoy certain elements of your work
- you are pleased with some aspects of how you get to spend time after work
- etc, etc, etc, etc, etc
And, how would your day improve if every time you consciously focused on the sincerely positive elements of your work and life, you were also recognizing your power to change your DNA in the process?
Kind of makes you smile, doesn’t it?
Okay, so now join me in doing it.
Right now I’m grateful that you’re taking the time to read this post and take in information that could change your DNA!
