ESL Students Learn Faster when they are taught Using ESL CLASSROOM GAMES

I used to be an ESL (English Second Language) Teacher for over five years. I taught English first in Tokyo, Japan; and then after two years of that experience I moved to Taipei, Taiwan where I stayed for over three years. Will I go back? Probably, but not right now. However, what I would like to do right now is let you in on a secret on how to make your ESL students learn faster, enjoy your class more, retain more information and in a few months attract new students into your class... and when you have more students joining your class - you will make more money! So, if you don't know where to start...start here: This ESL exercise is known as, "The Phonics ESL learning game." This esl speaking game is incredibly quick to learn how to play and the students enjoy it very much. First - You are going to create a giant grid on the whiteboard. At the top of the grid you will write the numbers one - ten. 2nd - You will need to write the letters A - J from top to bottom on the far left side. Now the esl students will simply be able to select any box through the grid. rnFor example: 5a / 6G / 1B, etc., and so forth. Before class time (during the preparation period), you really should draw that identical grid upon a A4 piece of paper. Then you will to write in point amount in each box. On the whiteboard's grid you'll now write each and every box with a Phonics word from the student's Phonics book; or any other book will do, too. Now... split up the esl students into two or more groups. I typically seperate my class into four teams, but you may seperate them into as many teams as you desire. And give each team a Team name. The ESL esl students can participate in, "Paper, Scissors, Stone!" to see which team goes very first, second, third and last. After all of the previously mentioned is taken care of... it is possible to begin playing this esl conversation game. From the group which gets to go first... One student may fully stand up making up a sentence applying one on the words from the grid. If he/she makes up a sentence and says it applying correct grammar ~ the teacher will erase the word, look on his/her piece of paper, see how many points are in that box and give that student's team that many points. Keep playing this esl conversation game until all of the words have been used. The group with the most amount of points at the end in the efl game are the winners!
