Lately there have been many journals featuring the benefits of yoga and health. Tons of stuff showing an almost immediate helpful result for the heart, blood pressure, muscles. It is all about preventative medicine, doing yoga consistently will help decrease your chances of getting common middle aged problems. How much more can you ask for!

Regular yoga practice can help improve flexibility and strengthen the body.

Researchers at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center conducted a study that showed 30 minutes of consistent yoga practice done over a period of four years led to weight loss for overweight middle-aged people.

From a study of 10,000 men and women, researches have concluded that yoga was much more beneficial to the men and women who did yoga on a regular basis than those who did not.

One common myth mixed with weight loss is that you must have an active exercise regime, however the people who attended yoga practice did not do that kind of yoga at all. The researchers feel that the weight loss is due more to the way yoga makes people attentive of their bodies, than the direct burning of energy and the resultant weight.
