As a good Cuban I am very proud of my knowledge of Cuba and love to share this knowledge and experience of this amazing Caribbean island with you. Cuba is a destination like no other. Its history, its people, its rhythm and its magnificent long white beaches enable it to offer very unique holiday experiences for those who are looking for something far away and exotic. If you are looking to go swimming with dolphins in the crystal clear waters of Varadero beach, a touch of history in old town of Trinidad, love the energy and excitement of the carnivals in Santiago de Cuba, relaxing beach holidays in Varadero, jazz clubs and Salsa dancing in Havana, a ride in an old American car, to be fascinated by Castro’s famous 6 hour speeches or anything else to make your experience of Cuba then you are in the right track. Some tourists do not really get the real feeling of Cuba especially when they go to a secluded beach resort in Cuba. These places have been purposely built far from the access of locals to avoid resentment as Cubans are not allowed in the hotels. So what is the purpose of taking a 9 hour flight across the Atlantic to end up in a beach that could be found any where else in the World? I am not trying to put you off a nice beach holiday by saying this but there is much more to Cuba rather than just its beaches. Get to see the small colonial towns; this will give you a better comprehension of what living in Cuba is like. You can always leave some time to relax in a beach at the end of your holidays. Cuba is probably on of the safest places in the world. You will never hear about gun shooting in the streets or violence of any kind. You should be aware though that cases of pick pocketing and stolen properties has been reported recently so take extra precautions with your belongings. If you take a couple of weeks holiday you can travel around the whole island and I am sure this way Cuba will definitely leave a good memory on you and will probably make you come back for more.
