Fat Loss Diet For Women Above 50
Written by Alvin J Chua
When a woman reaches 50 years of age, her weight loss hormones become very important to the chances of her succeeding. This hormone is known as estrogen. Estrogen production decreases after menopause and this will actually cause a change in the way fat is burnt and stored by the human body.
This means that fat is accumulated around the belly region much more easily. Although this is the case for most women after menopause, there are women who experience easy fat gain in their butt and thigh regions as well.
A great way for women who are above 50 years of age to get rid of their embarrassing belly fat will be to time the consumption of carbohydrates during the day. Taking carbs at appropriate times of the day will allow your body to keep producing leptin without actually converting your carbohydrates intake into belly fats.
The following are some of the best ways to control and change your diet to prevent the accumulation of fats at your abdominal region.
First of all, you should take the majority of your daily carb intake as early as possible in your day. When you first wake up early in the morning, your metabolic rate is at its highest, and consumption of carbohydrates at this point in time will cause the them to be burnt away instead of becoming stored as fats. This also gives your body the necessary carbohydrates needed to keep your body's leptin levels high.
Next of all, if you want to, you should eat your carbs after your exercise routine. If you are a woman and above 50 years of age, you can help get rid of your belly fat by incorporating regular exercises such as resistance training into your daily lifestyle. When you take them after resistance training, your body will make use of them to your muscles instead. This naturally means that less of it will then be stored as fats around your abdominal region instead.
Finally, you should also have one cheat day per week. There are people who notice that taking carbohydrates cause them to experience a bloated belly. The solution will be to take a low carbohydrate diet throughout your week, except for one day during the weekend to have an additional high carb meal.
In conclusion, by changing the times you take carbs during the day, you will find that losing weight even after 50 is still very possible!
