A Women’s Spiritual Retreat is a type of pilgrimage, a sacred jou
ey, that you take when you need to get away from daily stresses, and at the same time, have a deep yearning of self discovery and desire for greater awareness and connection to our Source. Like any pilgrimage, there is the unknown and this adds excitement to the jou
ey. The retreat becomes a venture forth, a step into the unknown. Even if you have been to one before, each retreat has its own personality, form and transformative qualities that make it new, unique and memorable. A special ambiance occurs as women gather in a peaceful way, creating community and new friendships.
Here are ten super reasons to attend a Women’s Retreat.
Reason #1 – Caring About Yourself
The better you are feeling – emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually – the better your life will unfold and all around you will benefit from your transformation. Self care is a necessity and the time is now to step forward to be nurtured, inspired and experience a peaceful way.
Reason #2 – Making the Inner Connection to your Core Self
In our busy world, we seldom take time to quiet our mind, our body and our heart to our true Self within. It is within each of us that we find peace, love and truth. Find ways to reconnect with the real you…it is a wonderful experience, an everlasting one.
Reason #3 - Allowing yourself to feel lighter.
Can you imagine a few days where you can relax and let go of your problems? You may find a new view, a new way, where your anxieties are released and you actually feel physically and emotionally lighter. Allow yourself to try a new way of being…a lighter, more peaceful way.
Reason # 4 - Experiencing unity with nature
A retreat will show how deeply we are connected with nature and all life. You can enjoy quiet solitude on beautiful walking trails or sit by the flowing streams being mindful of the natural beauty around you. This natural connection heals and comforts. You will feel a sense of oneness and peace.
Reason #5 - Expanding your spiritual awareness and intuitio
Women are naturally intuitive and can understand one another without saying a word. When women gather, something magical occurs, an inner knowing and compassion, that unfolds that brings warmth and comfort to all…with just a smile. The retreat creates an awareness and remembrance of our intuitive self as we allow it to guide us in a trusting way.
Reason #6 - Experience inner peace through meditatio
During the retreat, we will have guided meditation to great a deep feeling of relaxation and inner peace. You will also have time for solitude and meditation on your own. There are many wonderful spots that you may find for meditation. The beautiful rippling stream at the Ecology Centre is healing and serene. Taking time for self reflection and quiet is calming and refreshing.
Reason #7 - Laugh and renew the spirit of your inner child
When women gather at a retreat there is always lots of laughter to lighten our spirits and open our hearts. Whether it is while we share a meal or a workshop or gather at the fireside, it is always fun to share and allow our inner child to come out to play.
Reason # 8 - De-stress, Rest and Relax
Taking time at a retreat to de-stress, to rest and relax is something we do not do very often at home. Curl up with a good book or listen to music or even take a well deserved nap! The retreat provides free time for you to choose how you want to spend it.
Reason # 9 - Opening to new ideas
Each retreat is about creating the ‘whole’ you so you can expand your perceptions and create the life you really want. Creativity seems to flow naturally at a retreat as new ideas and expressions of thoughts flow when we are in an environment that is supportive and understanding our challenges and encouraging our visions.
Reason #10 - A sense of community
As women gather at a retreat, a supportive community seems to form in just a short time. They take away this sense of community and know that friendships have formed that can continue after the retreat is over. Many past retreaters keep in touch and return again to a new retreat that is always unique but always has the warmth of a peaceful community.
As the retreat closes, you will know that you have made a connection…created a new path… and a lasting memory of a special time.

BeSimply…Autumn Skye Morrison
“She” arrived at a small boutique in the lower Gibson’s, located on the Sunshine Coast in British Columbia. It was a cool and crisp evening and the sun was beginning to set. The store, Costal Creativity, welcomed “She” and “He” in and presented itself as a playful stage for the creations of local artists. As “She” entered, a large tree like structure filled with these expressive hats captured her attention. The variety of textures and colors created a canopy of fanciful head adornments. “She” intently studied each hat, wondering which one would come home with her someday.r
