Finding Yourself

Often in life we find we are not being who we truly are, that we are holding something back, a feeling that we are not fully connected to what we are as a person. It is like we are going through life as someone else, playing a role and not being true to who we really are. Often the truth of who we are escapes us unintentionally and we do not fully understand where or why we lost ourselves.
It can also be that we get left behind by choice, by the need to change so that we can fit in better with society, life, work, or family. Who we are gets cast aside and then we go on with life, forgetting to pick ourselves back up. We portray that part of ourselves that seems to fit and continue on as if that were all that we have to offer, but this isn’t true. Who we really are compliments everything--our role in life, how we portray ourselves, and how we fit in. Who we truly are is the best and most efficient option in life, for when we go down the road of being a false representation of ourselves we lack the fundamental truth of our being. We are without the balance, the clarity, and the truth of how we are; thus, we find ourselves lost, feeling empty and sad for no reason, and developing a host of internal battles and struggles because we have simply left our true self out of the equation.
It isn’t always a conscious decision when we leave our true self behind. It can be a moment in time that compelled us to do so. When reaching back to this destination, this point, it is relevant to understand why and to accept it as a choice. By doing so you are releasing yourself into the present and can then go forward as your true self. It is not hard; it only requires honesty to the relevance of such a decision. It is to understand why and to know that you can now be your full self, holding nothing back.
When we connect to our true self we become all that we are meant to be. We lose that feeling that we are absent in our life and we find what we are meant to be and the best possible path for our lives. It all comes together. So if you ever feel compelled to come to the realization that what you are missing in life is really yourself, then take a look back in time, question why and seek out the beginning of when it felt like you were lost. It can be deep, far back, or it could be more present, but the important part is to realize that somewhere along the line you left yourself out of the equation in your own life. Regain who you are and become your full self by allowing it to happen. You can go forward in life without that empty feeling; you can be fully present within yourself and find out what it feels like to have nothing hidden. It can be done if you are open to the perception that we may not all be presenting our full selves in life.

During life, we may encounter periods of time where we are under a lot of stress. We tend to hold onto these moments and carry them forward with us. How we felt during that period is also carried forward if we do not let go of it. That is why, even though the moment we are in may seem good, easy, and enjoyable, we may still feel anxious, unsure, and troubled. Letting go of what happened to us, as well as how we felt, is very important in order to feel at ease and confident with where we are.

The densest body of our so-called lower bodies is the physical body. We are all familiar with it because it is the body that we see with our physical eyes. We are also familiar with the five senses – sight, hearing, taste, touch and small – which are built into our physical body and allow us to experience and interact with the exte al world.

What burden is placed on those forced to be brothers in arms to survive wars and suffering, meant not for the innocent but for those guilty of making angels out of their own children. How much does it cost to let sons turn into murders and daughters into whores. How can any human live with such guilt? Only in ignorance. Only in turning ones back on truth. The world bleeds for us all, for life is dying. The more we learn of our history, the more we have realized that we owe more credit to our predecessors then we have been taught to give.
