3. Imam Reza Shrine located in the city of Mashhad, Razavi Khorasan Province, Iran. It is the third largest mosque of the world with a total capacity for 700,000 worshipers. It has a total area 598,657 square meters, (6, 443, 943, 65 square feet). It is the largest Mosque of the world in terms of total area. It is known for containing the tomb of Imam Reza (the eight Imam). It is also an important tourist place in Iran and a hub of religious education. Imam Reza, Shrine was built in 818 A.D.
