Five Questions to Ask Before Setting Your Goals

Here’s a way to handle on whether your goals are reachable and whether you can experience the level of success you desire. Setting your short and long term goals is going to be an essential element in your success but just setting them probably isn’t going to be enough. Before you start your business, there are a several questions to ask to make sure that your goals are achievable and that you are actually going to be able to make them happen. * Do you truly believe you can reach the end goal? If the answer is “yes”, you’re on the right track. If the answer is something less affirmative, think about scaling back your end goal to what you believe you can do. If you don’t really believe that you can reach a goal, you’re probably going to be right. You can always set your sights on the bigger goal as you move forward. * How much time is required? If you’re setting goals that require a huge amount of time each day, do you have the time to do it? If you can’t, you’ll likely feel growing frustration as you fall further behind your original schedule. These are YOUR goals. Don’t set yourself up for a daily stress-out by starting with an action plan you can’t keep up with. * Do you have the right skill set? Do you have the knowledge and skill to get this done or will you need support or some education to reach your goals? If you need to add to your skill set, research what you’ll need to master before you start your business. That way you can factor it into your plans and stay on schedule. * Are the people around you on-board? If it’s just you, this isn’t a problem. If you’ve got family you’ll want them to be on-board with you if at all possible. If your pursuit is going to change or challenge your relationships, try to make sure that the people around you understand what you’re trying to do and why. * Are you flexible enough to handle the detours and problems that can occur? The one certainty is that there’s a lot of uncertainty. If you can handle the problems without pulling going nuts, you’re going to be much better off in the long run. Having your short and long term goals in place when you start online marketing is a great step in the right direction. Testing them with these questions and making sure the goals you’ve set are going to work within the rest of your life will take you that much further down the road to realizing your dreams.
