If the automobile engine is regarded as the heart of the car, the turbocharger is the breathing apparatus of the engine. And now you can understand why the turbocharger is so important. When it is working, the drivers should pay attention to its state in case something should be wrong with it.

Firstly, do not drive the car at once when the engine starts, especially in the cold winter. The right way is to let the engine work for a period of time so that the oil has enough time to lubricate the bearings before the turbocharger operates at a high speed. Please keep it in mind: do not step the throttle forcibly and suddenly just when the engine starts so as not to do the damage to the oil seal of the turbocharger.

Secondly, do not flame out at once. It is wrong to shut off the engine immediately after it has been operating at a high speed for a long time. When the engine is working, a lot of oil is supplied to lubricate and cool the turbocharger. When the engine suddenly stops working, the oil pressure drops rapidly to zero, but the turbocharger is still working fast because of the inertia and the heat in the shell of bearings can not disappear quickly because the temperature of the turbine of turbocharger is still very high. In this case, if the engine suddenly stops, the too hot oil in the turbocharger will damage the bearings and shafts.

Thirdly, keep clean. When we dismantle the turbocharger, we should keep it clean. We plug its fittings with clean cloth in order to prevent debris from falling into the turbocharger to damage the rotor. In maintenance, we should not touch and harm the impeller.

Fourthly, we should often clean the turbocharger. Since the turbocharger is often operating consistently in high temperature, the internal oil is likely to be coked, which will lead to damage to the bearings of the turbocharger because of the insufficient lubrication. Therefore, we should clean the oil pipelines after they are running for a period of time.

Fifthly, please check the running state of the turbocharger on a regular basis. Before starting the car and after driving it, we should check the connection of all kinds of tubes.
