For the Love of Money, Really?

I write about creating wealth, that it’s in everyone’s right to make really good money. I share with you Wealth tracking sheets and inspirational quotes regarding money. I even say I love money…well, what money stands for that is, meaning the good that it can do for others and for yourself.

See I may ruffle some feathers here.

I get it, the more money you make, the more everything can be just a bit easier in life. The more you can grow your business, the more you can help other’s with what you teach. Trust me when we had nothing, everyday was a struggle – not having money was difficult

But here is the thing, you can go into business to make a difference and the money will follow or you can go into business to just make money. One works, the other, well it can work but you’ll be missing something.

See, there is something more to this whole “making money thing” that I want to share with you, what I believe to be true.

In order for you to really up level your wealth, you must first decide in your business what is the bigger message, what’s your bigger why for being in business. Did you notice how I said go to the next level, I didn’t say create 6 figures or $50k or whatever, your number is personal to you in what will make a difference in your life and that of others.

So let’s just say you are passionate about every child in the world learning how to swim, you reverse engineer this idea and come up with blow up rings – floaty’s that are sold at a price where almost every child’s family can afford it. By doing this, the wealth follows – not just money, but your filled-up heart that knows that this available to every child that wants to swim, now can.
Money is just an energetic exchange for the value and the service you putout into the world.

Let’s do this scenario a bit differently.

Let’s say you want to make a million dollars. You come up with this great idea of the “floaty” so that children can swim. It has nothing to do with them learning to swim, being safe or your love and desire for every child across America to be able to go in the water, it’s just about the making the million bucks.
What happens in this scenario is one of two things:
You make the money you desire, but it’s short lived. Why? There is no passion or love involved in the project.
It feels forced, you struggle day in and day out to make your idea fly. You see other people latching on to the “floaty” idea, and they make a ton of money and it seems easy for them and you just don’t understand because you are working your booty off to make this happen.

Either scenario is not a pleasant way to work. Trust me, I’ve been there, I’ve done that. That’s what I thought being an entrepreneur was early on.

So here is my big message to you, dig deep to really figure out where you passion lies, what fills you up, where you can make a bigger difference in the world.

For you, your passion may be the thing that actually creates the wealth in order for you to do things for others that you may not have been able to do before. Your bigger “WHY” for having your business may reach way beyond the fact to “help children swim.”

Perhaps, initially that is what you desire, but the bigger giving back in your business, is to help awareness around the world that, “Drowning is a leading cause of unintentional injury death worldwide, and the highest rates are among children.” By the way, this is a true statistic.

The money that follows this person’s invention of the “floaty” is just the residual effect for:
1.) Helping children learn to swim
2.) The bigger reason, the bigger WHY… saving children’s lives all over the world.

I want to help you open your eyes to the creating a business that isn’t just a vehicle to make money, but to make a difference.
Here are some questions you can ask yourself to make sure you are on track. I want you to really be honest with yourself here, some of these questions you may not be able to answer right away, but will come as you begin to take action and will be more defined as you, yourself grow and expand.

And, because I mostly work with other coaches, healers, mentors, authors & speakers, these questions are modeled in a way to make you think for this type of business:

Do I love what I do?
How does your work really make you feel?
Does what you teach actually help other people?
Are you really building your ideal lifestyle, or just doing what you think you should?
Are you working just to make money, or to create a difference?
How close are you from discovering or stepping into your real purpose?
Does your work really create an impact on the world the way you want it to?
Here is the biggie question: Are you just doing more, making more, desiring more and never really getting to where you want to be? Or, are you being fulfilled along the way as you grow?

There is a big difference from the more, more, more mentality and growing and making more because you are creating difference along your evolving and ever-growing path of life and passion-filled business that gives back in a much greater way.

Can't Afford to Follow Your Dreams? Can You Afford NOT to? By Debra Larson I just read an article where they said that a poll was taken and 80% of the people that participated did NOT enjoy or like their jobs. So my burning question is WHY don't people do what they love and what they are naturally gifted to do in life?

How you do love is how you do money? How are marriage & owning a business the same? I've noticed that some women are very good at pointing out how their significant other could have done things better, point out their faults and punish them for perhaps not meeting your needs or supporting you when you think they should. All of this only leads to disconnects and distance in our relationships. Yelling and nagging is just disrespectful and honestly, not very effective. Expecting our spouses to do and think exactly as you do, does not and will never work.

Nothing is more important than living for today. Living your life to the fullest, doing what you love, what you were meant to do, full of purpose and meaning. Sounds pretty good, doesn't it? You truly do create your own life and add meaning to anything and everything you do, big or small. Being happy and fulfilled isn't based on the stuff you have, or where you live, it's being okay with who and what you are and what meaning you want to bring to this life.
