I’m the Mother; the Nothingness too. We know, more or less, from our very birth what ‘Mother’ means. But what is about ‘Nothingness’? It remains ever unrevealed to us. In the light of education, culture and civilization people guess something and that’s all. How little it is!
‘Nothingness’, in fact, stands for that endless, which extends just above our head and stretches far and wide in every direction. The end, as a matter of fact, is in the womb of the endless. Who can conceive its form! Once a baby is born, it proves its identity and attains maturity. ‘The truth manifests itself if we have faith’—saying thus we can keep ourselves ever occupied with intoxication. Those endless remain ever unknown and vast. Scientifically devotion has nothing to do. Spiritually reason has immense to achieve.
But the phrase ‘manifests itself’ stands ambiguous. In one sense it helps something to appear. But is it not merely consolation? It refutes outright everything like strength and reasoning only to spirit away the existence of God, as a piece of camphor, just vanishes being left exposed. In another sense if we think that ‘manifestation’ is nothing but the end of conflict, can that ever be possible? Being utterly helpless, we found no way but to depend on Ma-Mahajnan, the Mother to all.
She inspires the faculties of every one of us, irrespective of ordinary or extraordinary, in course of analysis—not only today, but ever since we could come to stay in her noble association. There should not be any flaw in what little we attain. We may be unable to know even a little about the immensity. But is there any bar to understanding different kinds of wood individually—like shal (a timber tree), teak, mango and jack-fruit? Unless we are born in a cultured family, what’s the gain of being spiritually inclined! Culture, indeed, has a great signification. One should be self-cultured by birth; none of the parents throughout the world ever have possessed that state of mind.
The key-word of Ma-Mahajnan sets us pondering. Being seriously involved in the affairs of house-hold she teaches us unceasingly—all the while most affectionately, very seldom scolding. Unusual was her behavior—patience, dealings and justice. All of a sudden she might say—O Lord! Endow me with the strength to accomplish well-protected tasks.’ Hearing ‘well-protected task’ I got startled. Alone I have had stayed to meditate on it.
Once Mother touched on it—it refers to the tasks well-arranged. We could comprehend that it points to her usual daily round under the pressure of a busy schedule. We would of course come to realize about her well-protected task as well as the prime ordeal truth and The Absolute Being, provided we are capable of cleansing ourselves within.
Only a few months ago we could confidently say—So long this great genius is in human frame, one is required to know and understand all about knowledge that helps one attain perfection in life and the nature of ignorance that makes one helpless at every step. Alas!
With war regards, I remain
Yours in the Diviner

About the Author
Ma-Mahajnan, a matchless spiritual genius, expressed her entire creation in a state of "Conscious Trance” which has all been stuffed with matters of highly philosophical values and related with strong literary sense. She could not attend even Primary School due to extreme poverty. Strangely, she was taught all by herself in the School of Nature. The weird and wonderful life is possibly the souse of her vast experience and profound realization. She was born on 17 July, 1928 and passed away on 22 January, 2011.
Listen to what Ma-Mahajnan said once: “I may as well tell you in advance; I haven’t read about any Yoga, I am, in fact, innocent of any learning. Just believe me; you should know this in advance. In fact, if you speak in English, I won’t understand that. I am a perfect ignoramus.” Listen to what I tell you briefly about the early phase. Listen first about my life. I was married off at the age of thirteen. I was the second wife, my husband married for the second time and thus I came into his family. I didn’t get any chance for schooling.” You’ll perhaps weep to hear how I came as a wife, driven by utter poverty or how they packed me off. After that all at once I slowly progressed in the domain of that ‘Nothingness’.--Please refer to “I’m the Mother; the Nothingness, too.”
Asokananda Prosad, Ma-Mahajnan's first disciple, is an engineer, a philosopher and a philanthropist. Being the missing son—the eldest and the first disciple of Great Ma-Mahajnan, he has had to shoulder so many burdens of Ashram and Temple. Of course, there are few brothers and sisters, very sincere and honest, intelligent and industrious. They help him in every way. He has long been translating Works of Ma-Mahajnan, written in Bengali, into English. The Mother didn’t just put those in black and white, but simply expressed, extempore and spontaneous, in a state of “Conscious Trance” and Asokananda got those tape-recorded.

Intuitive Process Painting As A Spiritual Practice

The Creative Process, How And Why It Works
Creativity is a subtle and magnificent dance between the rational and the intuitive, between the left and right parts of the brains, between technique and imagination. Both partners in this dance are absolutely necessary and are needed in equal proportion, which means that imagination is not more important than technique and visa versa. If you only live in the imagination, you will never get organized, you will never complete your story. However, if you start from the rational, linear, organizational part of the process, ( ie. Gotta have the perfect opening sentence and first paragraph...

The Happy Ending - Love Conquers All Or Thoughts On Fiction Writing After Dialoguing With My Dog
Recently, I was considering the question of peace, which doesn't happen often while writing fiction. There's all that drama, love, hate, desire, envy and so on. Peace, with any luck, comes at the end of the novel. I was considering this aimlessly as I lay with my head on Phoebe's warm flank. Phoebe, being the sensitive, intuitive creature she is, immediately tuned into my musings and suggested we consider the question of love instead, which she quite rightly observed was a precursor to true peace.

How To Make A Bad Kid Good Again: The Story of Michael, Peter & Harry The Cat
