Christmas has come and gone. And it’s now time to plan for the New Year. Along with Christmas, it is better to welcome and celebrate the New Year with one’s family ï¾ with kids and all!
So what can we do with our family this New Year’s eve? How can our kids help in preparing things for New Year’s Eve? And what can we do for our kids to be happy this New Year?
So many parenting questions, but don’t worry for there are many parenting tips and practical parenting advice that can easily answer these questions.
Here are some practical and, most importantly, fun parenting advice and tips for the New Year’s Eve from Parenting Blog:
*Have fun with the Preparations. Half the fun in a party is its preparation. So get kids involved in making festive decorations. Let the kids help in making homemade confetti and decorations. Let them explore their imagination and creativity. Provide them materials to be able to make their own decoration for the New Year. Allow them to use their imagination and have fun with decorating.
*Bring on the Noise. What's a New Year's Eve party without the noise? Get the kids to create their own noisemakers. They can do this by filling plastic water bottles with rice or lentils and covering the bottles with colored paper, glitter, and other decorations. Don't have any empty water bottles? Then make joyful noises with your pots and pans, banging them together when the clock strikes 12.
*Hats Off. A New Year's Eve wouldn’t be complete without those silly hats. So gather supplies for making them. Start raiding your recycling bin for newspaper, leftover wrapping paper, ribbons, cardboard, paper plates, and other materials. Allow your kids to make them into hats. Give an award for the silliest, the most creative, the prettiest, etc. as part of the New Year’s Eve celebration.
*Dinner and Home Movies. Do you have home videos, but don’t have the time to watch them? The New Year’s Eve could be a great time to watch them. Spend the last evening of the year watching the movie of your family's life with the people you love most. Depending on the time length of the video footage you want to review, you may want to have an early and a late show. Then during intermission, your favorite family meal can be served while sharing memories of favorite past experiences.
*Saying Thanks for the Memories. You can spend the evening creating a family time capsule with mementoes of special events. Secure a shoebox or empty tennis ball canister and pack it with keepsakes like photographs, blue ribbons, drawings and written memories of the top ten moments of the year. And when the clock strike’s 12, you can bury the time capsule in your yard. You can also capture the memories in a family scrapbook.
*Slumber Party with the Family! Have a family campout in your living room. Spread pillows, sleeping bags or blankets, and stuffed animals on the floor and let the whole family camp out for the night, watching few good DVDs, playing a deck of cards or board games, and eating your family's favorite meals by candlelight in the living room. Then at the end of the year, see how many family members are still awake!
