Get Mentors To Accelerate Your Success

All my life, I had been a little bit envious of the success that I saw that others clearly had and I didn't have. And of course it was justified in my circles and my family, and we were taught it was good, religiously, to be poor. God loved the poor people but not the rich ones, you know… “It’s easier for a camel to get through the eye of a needle than it is for a rich man to get into heaven.”

So this is pretty doggone tough, but I wanted it—and I kept sabotaging myself. In other words, I couldn't get outside my comfort zone, which had been established for me at a very low level. Until finally, I just began reading Think and Grow Rich and processing that book.

I made a decision. I said, "You know, I'm going to do it, and I'm going to start right now." This was in 1994, so I said, "I'm going to start making money in 1994. And I'm going to be rich, or I'm going die early." There was no other choice, because we can't control our ultimate moment of death.

Interestingly enough, what kicked it off, the precipitating event that actually brought it from nothing to "I'm going to do whatever it takes. I'm going to die or do it," was that I went to a high-level wealth summit.

It was so clear. People who were really doing it were sharing how to do it. All I had to do at that point, and that's all I did, was go out and follow the instructions as well as I could interpret them at that time. And success began.

In a nutshell, I actually made that key decision, and then I found loads of mentors to help me and lead me to the right path towards success.
