Mobile apps are widely used in today’s world for carrying out day to day important task as well as for entertainment purposes. This is the reason why the people are turning in money for buying smartphones. If you are a smartphone user than you probably already know about the term but for others let us get brief about the term.

Mobile apps are the software program that people download or access directly through their phones. The apps are numerous in numbers and in purpose as well. A normal pre-installed game that one likes to play is also considered as an app. The GPS which is used vastly for navigation is also an app. Other than that there are thousands of other programs which people download for different purposes. All those are nothing but mobile apps.

Different mobiles have different operating systems and therefore have different software environment. Mobile apps therefore are developed for different platforms. In the same way a person accessing an app is bound to download and use the specific application designed for the operating system present in his mobile. Apple runs on iOS and has a dedicated store online for downloading apps and in the same manner blackberry, Microsoft, Nokia have different software environment for their phones or tablets. The most popular of all these days is android by Google which is an open source platform and has a dedicated ‘Play Store’ o web for users to download their favorite apps. All you require is an internet connection to access tons of applications.
While some of the mobile appsone finds in the dedicated stores are completely free to use, there are certain applications that are paid. Let us take a brief glance at the types of free applications available:

* Some mobile apps are free to use but the developers include advertising space within the app. Thus he can fairly earn through the advertisements and have more popularity as people download the free apps much more than the paid ones.

* applications come out with basic versions in free download. The developers offers much more and important features on upgrading to paid versions.

* Some apps allow the user to buy more features within the app. One must be careful with such apps as they bill you within the store.

* Some of the apps kind of advertise about the other products of the developers and therefore distributed free of cost.

With the growing cyber world, the purpose of mobile phones have broadened to much an extent with the upcoming smart phones which utilizes these mobile apps. Therefore the need has emerged as a source of revenue for the individual developers as most of the operating systems are open source and thus anyone can develop and earn if the application is qualified on the penned standards.

Mobile apps performs your tedious tasks like banking, reservations etc., helps you connect to social platforms, grants easy access to books as well as provide entertainment and rejuvenation.
