Going with the Flow...

I don't know about you, but I'm running into more and more people who aren't satisfied with the general norm. They are looking for personal answers. There seems to be a quantum shift heading toward more responsibility, more honesty, more intuitiveness, less control.

It can be extremely challenging to live in this world shift. The things that are out of our control are scary: the natural extremes like weather and quakes, the economy (yeah, someone is controlling it, but it isn't me ...), you know what I'm talking about. What's interesting is, if you know how to not get caught up in the fear, if you simply roll with the punches and go with the flow; it just feels neutral, not so scary. You still hit bumps, but they don't seem so big.

Then, if you watch the people who don't know how to go with the flow, it is almost comical. They will scramble to come up with every indignation, every excuse, every reason in the world why life is not giving them what they want or expect. From neutrality, you can clearly see that their only problem is themselves.

Picture a strong flowing river, and put yourself in an inner tube on it. Imagine floating along having fun with your friends, being aware of your surroundings but not worried. Then picture yourself when you see the big tree across the right side of the river up ahead. You go into scramble mode and try to paddle to the left side, but it seems like the more you paddle the more you head straight for the tree.

Your friends, meanwhile, haven't seen the tree and are still relaxed, enjoying the ride. While you're scrambling to control the influence surrounding you, your friends simply continue to float along with the flow of the river. They go with the flow and sail right past the tree and all the snags surrounding it.

Moral: There is truth to the saying, "what you don't see can't hurt you." We just need to learn when not to look.
