I know that probably sounds very woo woo or simplistic to you but don't you think that it's possible?
I believe it is. Having just turned my 6th decade a bit before a holiday of gratefulness I do truly believe it.
All the big Positive Psychology gurus will attest to this. They have done many studies and proven that being grateful every day can change your life. There are other things of course, as well, but this article is about gratefulness.
-Grateful you made it to you next birthday.
-Grateful you can get out of bed in the morning, grateful you can have breakfast, lunch and dinner if you so chose.
-Grateful you can read or listen to this article.
-Gratefulness is pretty simple when you think about it.
Do you keep a Gratitude list by any chance? You can do this every night before you go to sleep or every morning. Do it every day or once week or even once a month. Just taking the time to write what you are grateful for, or recording it, can change your life.
I travel quite a bit and just got back from 2 third world countries. One of the many things that amazed me (although it shouldn't have) is how happy these people are. And most of these people have very little in the way of what most of us feel is necessary.
Their homes are very humble, their lives are very humble. They work harder than most of us would dream of physically, and not just the young people.
But they smile at you always! From what I saw and heard from people who spoke English, they are happy people.
Maybe happier than we are? I don't know the answer to that. I guess the answer could be 'maybe'.
Are you as happy as you want to be? If so, wonderful. Spread it around to others. Smile at people you see as you go through your day.
If you wish you were happier then what are you going to do about it? It's all in your own hands you know. At least I believe it is.
As I said earlier, simply smiling at people will make you feel better. Act as IF you are happy and you might be surprised how well that works. You'll also get a great response from other people around you. Try it and see and let me know how it goes.
Being happy is free, no charge to you or anyone. Be grateful will make you happier, my promise to you, and it's also free!
My wish to you for this next day, week, month and year is to acknowledge the wonder around you and your life and be grateful.

Be Honest. How Much Money Will You Have to Retire On When You Stop Working?
I wonder how many of you even know. I'll bet a lot of you don't know. Or you kind of know but not really. It's vitally important for you to know. For some of you, if you have a more 'elaborate' retirement planned (lots of travel etc) you will need more than someone who has very simple wants and desires. There certainly is no right way but you need to know your truth. One of the lucky things about being a woman is you generally live longer than men. Wonderful!! But you will need more money.

How important is an Ethical Will to Boomer Women? Very.
Ethical Wills have been around for many generations but seem to be regaining their strength. That may be simply because many of you are getting to the stage in life where you begin thinking about what you are passing along to your children or other loved ones. Another term for Ethical Wills might be a “Values and Vision Statement.” In a nutshell, it is a tool for passing your memories, values and traditions to your loved ones and future generations. Keep in mind that an Ethical Will is not a legal document.
