It’s hard to put a price on good health, and research has shown that the health benefits of fish oil just keep on coming. You might not be aware of all the ways that fish oil can improve your quality of life. It’s not just a theoretical pill that might help you down the road. After a short time taking it, you should start to notice a number of the benefits if you suffer from certain conditions.
Heart Disease
Among the most popular health benefits of it is its improvement of heart health. The long-chai
Omega-3 fatty acids in fish oil can help reduce the risk of heart disease, and they lower LDL cholesterol in the bloodstream, while simultaneously increasing the HDL levels of cholesterol. As if that wasn’t enough, it has also been shown to lower the risk of heart attacks and stroke by clearing out plaque and clots in your arteries.
Inflammation
If you are in pain or are suffering from one of many inflammatory conditions, fish oil is there to help reduce the presence of these symptoms and lower your inflammation. Don’t forget that many chronic diseases have been linked to high levels of inflammation, so even if you haven’t got a lot of current symptoms, you can be preventing more serious diseases down the line. Along those lines, it can help ease the pain you get with arthritis and rheumatism. When you aren’t feeling as much pain, then you can use NSAIDS (Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) more sparingly, thus avoiding the side effects that come from long-term use.
Skin Health
As unlikely as it may seem, you can actually get better skin health from fish oil as well. Fish oil contains nutrients that can turn your dry and chapped skin into shiny, healthy-looking skin. If you are suffering from any skin diseases or conditions like eczema, lesions, or rashes, it can even help treat those. If you have psoriasis, you can use it topically to help relieve the effects. Regular use of fish oil can leave you with more moisture in your skin, making it healthier and younger-looking.
Eye Disorders
Another unlikely area that you might find improved is in your eyes. If you consume fish oil frequently, you might find that your eyes don’t get worse as fast. It might also help treat certain eye disorders. If you want to avoid the effects of macular degeneration, as a result of age, you should consider it for that reason.
Brain Function
Did you know that one of the major health benefits of the oil is the improvement of your brain function? It can actually improve your concentration, memory, reasoning, and focus. For mothers who are pregnant or nursing, you can pass on the health benefits of it to your babies.
Depression
If you are unhappy, there’s no guarantee that fish oil will cure you, but it actually can help with depression. At the very least, it makes your clinical depression symptoms less dramatic, and it can even help you avoid getting so depressed. It can help alleviate some those symptoms, while helping to prevent depression, bipolar disorder, and psychosis.
