Individuals with pre existing conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, cancer, stroke, kidney disease, liver disease, AIDS, depression and other serious health conditions, are finding it almost impossible to obtain affordable healthcare. If you are looking for uninsurable health insurance or pre existing condition health insurance, then you know how hard a task that can be.

To assist with your select, here are some options you may use in securing affordable heathcare coverage:nn(1) Group Health Insurance. The best choice for those with a chronic conditions, pre existing conditions or even uninsurable. It’s really a guaranteed issue health insurance plan. With group health insurance, coverage is usually provided by your employer or your spouse’s employer. The main advantage of group insurance: new employees will usually get coverage without any medical questions or conce
for a pre existing condition. One disadvantage: coverage usually ends when the employee's job ends.nn(2) Professional Organizations. A number of professional organizations offer their members a health insurance program as a fringe benefit. This is really like a group health insurance policy. See if you can get access to a membership organization which offers health insurance for preexisting conditions or health insurance for the uninsurable. A valid certification or career experience may be required to join. Look for local and national associations. Even with a yearly membership fee, it still might be worth the money.nn(3) Private Individual Health Insurance. Individuals with pre existing conditions, who are without health insurance coverage from an employer sponsored plan or a professional organization plan, will probably find private insurance a little pricey. Insurers can and do decline a request for coverage from someone who has preexisting conditions or if they are uninsurable. If you can find health insurance coverage, even if somewhat limited, it’s probably best to take that coverage. You can always switch to a better plan should the opportunity present itself.nn(4) State Risk Pools. For those with serious medical conditions, some states provide access to private individual health insurance for uninsurable or health plans for uninsurable through a high-risk health insurance pool. Consumers in these pools have access to comprehensive private coverage plans, but their premiums can be very high, sometimes costing twice as much as those for private health insurance. Some risk pools may be closed to new enrollments or have a long waiting list. High-risk pools offer an important last resort for people, (1) who have been denied medical coverage because they are too sick, (2) who are paying exorbitant fees for private insurance, or (3) who meet other key conditions outlined by that particular state.nn(5) Discount Health Cards. These cards claim to save subscribers money by offering discounts on doctor visits, hospitalization, prescription drugs, dental and vision care. The cards simply offer lower prices on services from healthcare providers who agree to the discount terms. Promises of expected savings can be inflated. These discount health cards are sometimes sold to those looking for affordable healthcare. Individuals with pre existing conditions or even those who are uninsurable, can mistaken these cards as regular health insurance. However, they really are not insurance. Use caution when purchasing these cards. They can cost more than you’ll save.nn(6) Guaranteed Issue Health Insurance. For those who are uninsurable, those with preexisting conditions or someone who just can not afford or qualify for health insurance, then a guaranteed issue health insurance plan may be a good choice. These plans are known as “mini-meds”. Most pre existing conditions are covered after 12 months. These plans are not basic health insurance or major medical coverage but are limited indemnity plans. This just means the plan pays benefits based on a pre-defined amount per service or procedure. Usually doctor visits, hospital stays, emergency room visits, surgery, accidental death are covered. Most plans do not require completing medical questions or taking a physical exam to qualify. Don’t confuse these plans with the “discount health cards”.
