Helping Others is Helping Yourself

The world is full of abundance. Money and abundance flows freely and easily, and when you become comfortable with this process it is much easier to allow the opportunities for money to flow to you instead of away from you. Being overly tight and careful with your money, just causes you to become more and more focused on the lack of wealth in your life. You become so focused on keeping what you have left that you cannot see any opportunities that comes your way.

To change this belief you need to open up to the possibility that you can create the money that you want or need. A great way to do this is the 10% rule. There is a commonly sited rule in entrepreneurism that is the 10% rule. It's simple: give at least 10% of your income to any charity. The act of donating to something you believe in will not only make you feel better about who you are, but it will also make you feel better about your financial situation. You will gain a much better perspective on your wealth and abundance as you are reminded that there are people who are much worse off than you. Often something as simple as this can really allow you to tweak your thinking and feel appreciative of your situation. You stop focussing on lack and start focussing on abundance.

The best benefit is the change in how you view yourself. You will see yourself as a leader, a benefactor, and an influence for good. This is an entrepreneur. They offer opportunities to help people solve problems or live better in some way. And those that will achieve long term success are those who are contributing and creating a better world around them. Again this shift in thinking will help you to see other opportunities around you and have the courage and self belief to go after them.

Finally, everything you give to the world will return tenfold. As I said abundance is a flow, you have to allow it to flow from you freely in a positive way for it to return.

You might be looking at this now thinking, I would love to contribute to the world, but I simply can't afford to. This kind of thinking is poison to you. Do everything in your power to remove them from your thinking. Because you can't afford not to.

You have a basic level of income that you need to just get by. This money covers your base outgoings: rent or mortgage, food, monthly bills. Anything more is extra. You know that your income must always meet this basic level as you need a home and food on your table. Now take that basic level, and add an extra 10%.

The next part is obvious: you have a new basic income level. This should be absolutely imperative for you. If you are not meeting your usual basic level of income than your top priority is doing whatever it takes, to create your new basic income level. If this is a non-negotiable in your life, the opportunity will come to you, and before you know it more and more ways will come to you as you become more open to new opportunities. You owe it to yourself and to the world to find your abundance.
