Brendon Burchard reminds us in his new book High Performance Habits: How Extraordinary People Become That Way, that with the right habits, anyone can dramatically improve results and become a high performer in almost any chosen field. He writes:

“High performance is not strongly correlated with age, education, income, race, nationality, or gender. This means that many of the excuses we use to explain why we can’t succeed are simply wrong. High performance is not achieved by a specific kind of person, but rather by a specific set of practices, which I call high performance habits. Anyone can learn them, regardless of experience, strengths, personality, or position.”

Brendon shares in the book the “six habits that you need to adopt if you are to reach high performance in any situation. In the hundreds of personal efforts and social behaviors that we’ve observed, these habits move the needle the most in dramatically improving performance.“

The habits are divided into Personal and Social Habits:

Personal Habits: -Seek Clarity
-Generate Energy
-Raise Necessity

Social Habits: -Increase Productivity
-Develop Influence
-Demonstrate Courage

I personally resonate the most with Habit #1 “Seek Clarity.” When we are clear about what we want to achieve, everything seems to align. It’s like the whole universe supports us and opens doors for us.

Once we are clear on our strategy and goals, what matters most to us and our business, we can work on the actions step by step. I review my business strategy monthly and update it with accomplishments or needed additions/changes. Weekly, I look at it to plan my week and daily I identify the tasks needed to be completed the following day to move toward achieving my goals.

Try this recipe:

Monthly:
Review your personal goals and business strategy, update it with your accomplishments and revise the actions if needed

Weekly:
Plan your week and actions that support your goals and strategy for the week.

Daily:
Identify your tasks for tomorrow, do it at night because ove
ight your subconscious and the universe will already work on it

When you move forward every day, step by step, you will reach your goals and achieve lasting success.
