Do you have trouble defining your services? When you are at a networking event, do prospects just nod their head and walk away? If so, you may need help crafting a marketing message that is compelling and inspires your prospect to take action.

Crafting your marketing message is not difficult, but it is not easier either. Most Holistic Practitioners have trouble explaining what they do.
Of course, you may understand verbatim like, “a tapping technique or “ancient modality.” But when you are marketing to mainstream clients you need to speak to them in a language they can understand. Luckily, you can craft your marketing message in 3 easy steps.

1. State the Benefits of the Service.

Instead of saying I use a tapping technique, say, I help you release stress or ease your anxiety.

2. Tell who you are targeting.

This is where knowing your target market comes in handy. If your target market is juvenile athletes, women entrepreneurs, or any other group, don’t be afraid to address them in your marketing message.

3.Tell them that you are the solution.

Sometimes people are so absorbed in their everyday lives they don’t realize that they need guidance or help. So, it is your job to let them know that you feel their pain. And you are going to help them get through whatever they are feeling.
For example, let’s say, you are an EFT practitioner that is targeting women entrepreneurs that suffer from anxiety. You can craft a message that read something like this:

Releasing stress and anxiety for the woman entrepreneur who is ready to take control of her life again and experience total well-being.

Test your Marketing Message on Friends and Past Clients

As you can see, steps 1 & 3 go together. Your job is to craft a message so compelling that it resonates with your prospect. You want your prospect to be able to read your brochure, sales letter, website or any other marketing collateral that you may have. After reading your marketing message they should be dialing your number, visiting your website, or booking an appointment to find out more information. Don’t be shy when it comes to crafting your message.

I know sometimes it may be hard to define your services and what you do. But you should try practicing your message on friends and family and see if they understand what you are trying to convey. Or think about it, tap into your past and current clients and ask them why they chose you to help them with whatever problem they had.
Figure out the common response that is be given and then try to see if you can come up with a message based on their answers.

I admit, crafting your marketing message can be a difficult task, but once you have an idea of what you do and who you do it for it should be a breeze. And remember don’t get frustrated, it may take you a few attempts and even a few days to come up with something that is totally unique and represents you.
