The swine flu has received much news coverage, as did the Bird Flu and many other pending viruses. Global media coverage has created quite a buzz about it. According to one source, the U.S. navy found that the new virus contains DNA of influenza A and B, the Asian influenza, Swine flu and avian flu. As many of you are aware, viruses mutate and form new strains. Many scientists are leery of doctors using Tamiflu for the swine flu. Some experts have reported it as an ineffective drug against the usual flu we are susceptible to. A bigger conce
is that vaccines cause viruses to mutate. Our immune systems may not be able to adapt to it.

Many of us have never heard of the swine flu. It is a virus that has affected pigs and now has affected some people in Mexico, the United States and a few Canadians. Currently there is no vaccine that prevents this flu. It seems to be transmitted like a cold virus, by coughing, sneezing, kissing, touching infected objects and though the nose, mouth or eyes. It doesn’t spread from consuming pork. Some of the symptoms of swine flu in humans are as follows:

· Fever

· Muscle aches

· Fatigue

· Coughing

· Headache

· Sore throat

· Runny nose

· Nausea and or vomiting

· Diarrhea

· Lack of appetite

In severe cases complications may arise such as pneumonia, bronchitis, sinus infection, ear infections and death. You will fare better if you have a strong immune system, eat well and take precautions, such as hand washing and proper hygiene when in groups. Things you can take to help support your immune system is probiotics, vitami
C and zinc. Probiotics are the beneficial flora that help to balance the bad in the gastrointestinal tract. Keeping you good flora high aids the immune system, because 60-80% of your immune system is found in the gut. Keeping your bowel flora healthy frees up your immune system to work on other more important things.

There are many useful homeopathic remedies for prevention of viruses, improving the immune system and fighting off this flu once you get it. To boost the immune system homeopaths often recommend a remedy called Thymuline 9CH taken four pellets once per week. Ocscillococcinum is a remedy that is good for influenza in general, take one vial or pill once per week.

Homeopathy has good results with many epidemics during the turn of the century compared to the standard medical care. Being a homeopathic doctor who is connected with homeopaths across the globe, there has been some discussion and consensus on how to treat the swine flu when it appears.

Many homeopaths believe in treating the symptoms of a disorder with natural medicines. By tailor suiting the remedy to the person, it individualizes the treatment and expedites healing.

Acute homeopathic remedies for symptoms of early onset of swine flu are aconite, belladonna, phosphorus, bryonia, metallum album and eupatorium perfolatum. If you have symptoms of the flu, call your homeopathic doctor to customize a remedy to your specific symptoms
