Here are some recommendations of how to change your lifestyle to lower the risks of having a heart attack and dying at an early age.

Food:
To avoid a heart attack it is important to avoid eating foods that are bad for you on a regular basis. Fried foods, fatty foods and sweets are ok to eat occasionally but not ever day. Fried foods and fatty foods harden the arteries and help form the blockage that causes heart attacks in most people. Try eating healthy foods like fish, skinless chicken and lots of fruits and vegetables. These foods provide needed nutrients to your body to help keep you in good physical health.

Keeping the Body Strong:
It is not enough just to put good fuel in the body you must also take good care of the body. It is important to workout at least 3 to 4 hours a week. Working out means breaking a sweat and raising your pulse rate, the way to figure out what your working out heart rate should be is simple subtract your age from 220. This means a 35 year old should raise their heart rate to 185 for a workout to be most effective. If you find that you can not hold a normal conversation during your workout you are pushing too fast and should slow down, huffing and puffing means your body is not getting enough oxygen, as you work out more you will find yourself able to push harder and faster. Tog et a good workout you do not need to join an expensive gym. Gyms offer aerobics classes weight training and bikes and treadmills for cardio workouts, but you can get just the same workout with a workout DVD and a fast paced walk two or three times a week.

Drugs, Cigarettes and Booze:
Everyone has a vice or two in their life. Some people have to have something sweet every day or whatever it may be, but smoking Cigarette, dinking alcohol and getting high on drugs increases your chances of having a heart attack by ten times. These vices put such stress on the heart as well as put thinks into your blood that makes it more likely to clot and cause a heart attack or even a stroke. Drugs like coke, crake and even pot smoking raises your heart rate and blood pressure. This causes your heart to work harder then it should and can weaken your heart to the point where you cant get out of bed and have to live the rest of your life hooked up to machines that have to pump your blood for you while you wait on a list for a heart transplant. This does not mean you can never drink or smoke the occasional grass, but if you want to keep healthy you must avoid had drugs and over indulgence of Alcohol.

If you want to live long enough to enjoy your golden years you have to start doing something about it now. Many people will say that 60 yeas ago people ate much worse then we do now, but my reply would be that those people also did more physical labor then we do today.
