A plant medicine used in the Amazon for centuries for healing and spiritual purposes may provide the answer to our environmental problems according to an interview with U.S. scientist, Dennis McKenna as reported in the Guardian recently.

According to the ethnopharmacologist, Mckenna emphasized the profound contribution that the medicine can make "if ever afforded its rightful place in medical practice and averting environmental catastrophe."

He states" Ayahauska is the conduit to a body of profoundly ancient genetic and evolutionary wisdom that has long abided in the cosmologies of the indigenous people of the Amazon who have guarded and protected this knowlege for millennia, who learned long ago that the human role is not to be master of nature, but its stewards".

"Our destiny, if we are to survive, is to nuture nature and to learn from it how to nuture ourselves and other human beings. This is the lesson that can be learned from Ayahauska, if only we pay attention.

I have always been reverent of life and nature. I have also been incredibly troubled by peoples estrangement from nature, even including their own bodies. Working conflictually with your body or nature is simply DOOMED.

If we are to survive, we will have to change, and quickly.

If this herb can raise the consciousness of others quickly, I am all for it!
