The way we look at ourselves has so much to do with how we influence others. In fact, the way we see ourselves is our choice. If we see ourselves in a negative way, then it just follows that we become introverted and therefore ineffective in empowering others. In order to influence others, we have to set a good example and this requires perceiving ourselves in a positive way.

If you think that you are incompetent in just about anything, then you certainly will not be effective in everything you do. And when you see yourself as an incompetent person all the time, then there will come a time when failures seem to be just normal to you. This can have a serious effect in your leadership capacity and your ability to influence others. Your life seems to be stuck and there is no chance for you to grow.

If you always think about the things that you cannot do, then you are simply conditioning your mind that you have a limited capability. Instead, we need to concentrate more on the things we can do in order to create an internal picture that is full of possibilities and complete. We have to keep in mind that our experiences are the results of the choices we make and have made in our every day life. We have to realize that the choices we make and our experiences are connected to each other. This way we do not have to suffer the same bad experience again.

Whenever a person makes bad choices, the usual reaction would be anger. But resorting to anger will just make matters worse. The results are the same if a person resorts to other "milder" types of anger such as jealousy and fear. Your every thought, action and words can reflect the anger that you feel and it is important that these negative feelings be removed. In doing so, you will be able to control your mind and body, thus paving the way to clearer thinking and better judgments. If you want to become a source of inspiration, then make sure to look at yourself in a positive way so what you are reflecting to others is a positive image.

You can start right now. Take a piece of paper and write down all the positive traits about yourself. Note your abilities, your strengths, your people skills, even express gratitude about what is positive in your life. Now read the list aloud and hear the truth about the wonderful person who is you. Next think of anyone you've been viewing in a not so positive light, write the list about their positive attributes and see them in a new light. Share this new view with them and become a source of inspiration.
