It has been observed in many researches that a large number of people suffer from the phobia of job interview. Also it has been observed that the people who overcome the fear of interview have a very high probability of getting selected in an interview. To ace an interview remember that you aren’t the only one who has been called for it. Also, you must know that you aren’t the only one who is suffering from sleepless nights, anxiety and Loss of Appetite etc. there are a lot of others who are exactly feeling the same. A few tips to crack the interview and overcome this fear of interviews are: - Communication Skills- Communication skills are very important for acing a job interview. Have a command over your written and verbal communication skills. These skills will have an impact on your inter-personal dealings and interactions positively. - Overcome Rejection Fear: This is one of the biggest reasons that stimulates the fear of interviews is the fear to lose the job. If you can overcome this fear of yours, you can easily ace your interview. The only mantra for this is that you must go with an attitude that shows it’s not you who needs the job rather the job needs you. - Be Flexible: Flexibility is a very important parameter. An interviewer will always judge you on the basis of your capability to accept changes and adjust to the changes in your environment. - Know the Job Requirement- You must know the job requirement beforehand. It is very important for you to know about the job profile and you must decide whether you fit in the job or not. Be sure about the demands of the organization. This will help you to decide the course of your interview. - Market yourself- A job interview is a platform to market yourself by showcasing your strengths. It is an opportunity for you to prove to the employer that you have the right skills, experience and background to fit in the culture and needs of the organization. - Never forge during your Interview: You must never forge or fabricate during a job interview. My advice is that you must never fudge your CV. Organizations are smart enough to find out the reality. So always be honest in your approach. - Make a List of the probable Question and Answer: Be prepared with a list of probable questions in accordance with the requirements of the job. - Get Feedback: Before closing the interview ask for a feedback. This will give a very positive impression about you. It shows your positive reason attitude and your ability to accept feedback. - Negotiate Reasonable Salary: Never ask for an unreasonable salary. This shows your lack of interest in the job and your interest in only money. Do your homework well before the interview and find out what are people in your profile getting as remuneration. Also see for the industry standards. Ace your job interview by speaking properly, sit up straight and act mature and confident in your approach. All said and done, it is true that it is easier said than done. Not everyone can change his or her course of behavior in such a short span of time. But, it isn’t impossible either.
