How To Effectively Run Your Home Based Business - Part 1

Having a home based business is a great thing in today’s ever busy society. You are your own boss, the work that you do is for YOU…not someone else. You have the luxury to work whenever and however you want, come and go as you please. No crazy commutes to and from work (now you are saving time and money-no gas). The list of positives can go on for a while…IF you know how to manage your home based business effectively! Sorry for the sports metaphor, but you need to have a game plan. No football team will ever score with just one play in their playbook. Maybe once, but as soon as the other team see’s it, it will not work again. To be effective, they have lots of plays to help set up others (to fool the defense) that they will use and grow on as the game and season moves on. The same approach should be used with your online business. You can’t do one thing, it just won’t work. You need to have some kind of plan of attack. How am I going to get the work out about my online business? Here are a few ideas that will help you accomplish this: 1. Advertise Go Google free classified ads and start advertising in as many of them as you can. Do multiple ads with different headlines and text. Most of the ads have a time limit so be sure to renew them regularly. 2. Social Networking I am sure you all heard of Facebook, Digg, Reddit, Stumble Upon, Delicious, You-Tube, Twitter, etc. These are all great social network sites that you need to be involved with. There are a lot more of them out there, but, you won’t have time for all of them so I mentioned the ones that are the biggest at this time. 3. Blogging If you are reading this…it’s my blog! Very powerful tool for getting your word out. Give your readers some useful information and then link them back to your web site. Make sure you blog on a continual basis. I blog roughly 3 to 4 times a week. 4. Articles Write articles about your topic or niche and post them them in article related sites such as Selfgrowth.com, Ezinearticles.com, Go articles.com, Ideamarketers.com, Articlebase.com and any others that you can find. Other ways to get your online business noticed is to write a press release and use online forums. There are many different ways to get your word out, the one’s that I have mentioned are some of the best ways to do it, and remember there is only 24 hours in a day and these methods will take some time. That winning team continues to work on their plays all season long and the better the team is, the more time their opponent will spend preparing for them.
