How to enjoy a stressed-less Thanksgiving Holidayn(c) 2008 Robin G. Tramble
1. First and foremost you must remember the true essence of the Holiday. Thanksgiving is a season of giving thanks. Alert your family to the “no negative talk zone.” Yes, no negative talk zone, this is a time for an attitude of gratitude. You’ll be surprised at the peaceful environment this yields and your stress level will be reduced.
2. Plan the menu in time to shop for ingredients and tools you’ll need for the occasion. The easiest way to attract stress is to wait until the last minute or go to the store without a plan in hand on what the menu will be.
3. Shop wisely. This may sound redundant but many stores give away free Turkeys with a certain spend at their store. This is not being cheap, however, it’s using your resources wisely.
This also includes clipping coupons.
4. Why not try something different this year? Another popular item at our house was to have the Turkey smoked. There are establishments that offer this option such as Bar-b-que outlets. Another flip to this is fried Turkey. Again, if you don’t want to do this yourself you need to check with local establishments such as fast food fried chicken restaurants for this one.
5. Decorate using fall and other harvest theme that can be found at many craft stores (i.e, pumpkins, fall leaves, pine cones etc.) You can also use nature (items from outside.
6. If you’re inviting others suggest an item for them to bring. Most individuals enjoy contributing to the festivities, but they won’t know if you don’t tell them.
7. Here’s a fun idea if you have little ones. Create a thanksgiving jar and the idea is for everyone to put one thing they’re thankful for on a slip of paper and insert into the jar. When you arrive at Thanksgiving eve you can draw slips from the jar and the most authentic idea receives a prize. You could also have consolation prizes for all since we’re talking little one’s here.
8. Last but not least, remember to take a moment to relax and remember what you have to be thankful for. It will be a much more rewarding Thanksgiving holiday when the host is rested and calm.

Time to be Positive
This is the time to be positive and avoid negative thinking at all costs. Negative thoughts will ruin your life. Instead, fill your mind with positive thoughts. Today and everyday think of all the great things that are taking place in your life. I'm not saying this just because it's the start of a new work week.
