How to Get Attention

Getting attention is not a simple exercise. The concept is to act natural. Various inherent qualities are incorporated within ourselves and these qualities are not put to proper use. Forexample, everyone grins. Did you know that smiling could gain you lots of attention? See, this was what I am talking about; likewise, most of us are brought to this world with certain preset capabilities. We tend to ignore them and seek newer methods with the aid of which we will be able to grab attention. In the majority of the situations, it fails miserably. Some tips are explained in the following sections:

• Smile, a lot: This was mentioned by me in the onset of the article, smiling tends to make others at ease when conversing with us. The key is to smile genuinely. Do not ever force up a smile on your face – people will be able to see through your smile. The intelligent of them might recognize this smile as an attention-seeking paradigm and hence, they might start disregarding you more than ever! Any situation can be handled when you are facing it with a smile on your face. Just try it for yourself, and be marveled!
• Stock up lots of self-confidence: I cannot stress this phenomenon, yet I am stating – in the absence of self-confidence, you are rendered incapable. Never let the “bad” or “pessimistic” thoughts cloud your judgment. Self-confidence can be attained to a great extent by intermingling with others socially. One good experience must fuel the next one down the line, and gradually you will find that the inherent fear of the masses is being slowly annihilated from your mind. Here is a news alert for the novices – if you are lacking self-confidence, people might notice it. They are going to consider you as a “loser”! Now we do not want that to be happening, do we?
• Understand the importance of eye contact: Always maintain eye contact while engaging in conversation. This should be practiced while conversing with anyone ranging from strangers to relatives or friends. People are programmed to think in the following manner – one does not make eye contact while in a conversation, because they are lying through their teeth. Now if you do not want to be labeled as someone that fits that description, start maintaining contact with the eyes while talking with anyone. Once you start practicing it, you will realize that your self-confidence is intensified spontaneously.
• There is a fine line between people seeking attention and people who are bestowed with attention, naturally. Never cross this threshold and appear to be desperate for attention. Never resort to any kind of cheap tactics that will grab the attention of others. In other words, just forget that you are looking for attention. If you play by the rules, people will start noticing you. Once you are popular in your social circle, try augmenting this circle by engaging in meticulous conversations with others.
