How To Get Everything Done

I had a question yesterday from one of my private clients and it went –

“How do you manage all that you have going on? What’s the secret?”

I stopped for a moment to consider it and the truth is, I don’t think I get all that much done. There is always a great number of things that I want to get to and if I stop to consider every single thing that I want to do, in order to reach the 334000 people I have in my mind’s eye then I get VERY overwhelmed!

So, I simply don’t look.

I just take the next step.

I do the next thing over and over and over again.

One foot in front of the other continuously whether I feel down or up, whether I think things are working or not, I just keep moving.

Do you keep moving?

Or do you stop every other second to consider how you are feeling?

Do you stop every other second to overthink something or the other…

Do you do silly things like try to figure out whether the colours on your website are just the right shade?

Do you spend an exorbitant amount of time figuring out whether your tagline is the right thing?

Or maybe you keep trying to get the perfect list of keyword phrases to ensure that all your SEO is absolutely definitely working?

Or maybe, you keep checking to see which application your membership program would run on best and so you keep changing things in the back office as you discover new ways of presenting your materials?

Or maybe you keep writing your business plan, changing the way you WILL DO things when you finally get off your awesome arse and START!!!!

Or maybe you keep trying to get that page to look awesome…

Or get the perfect pictures…

There are so many things that people get stuck into which do not move the needle at all, especially not when you are just trying to get to your first $50k in business.

You possibly look at people who have been in business for a lot longer than you and they are facing different problems from you and you go do what they are doing?!!!

HOW VERY SILLY!

Although if you are honest, you just keep navel-gazing and second-guessing

That is where most of your time goes and so then you feel bad that you have not got everything done.

And so then you navel-gaze and second guess some more.

This time wondering why you just cannot seem to do the work.

you keep looking for the deeper meaning to life when really, you just need to move your awesome arse!

MOVE, MOVE, MOVE

the answer is always found in the action, not the navel gazing.

Anyway, this is all the stuff I coud have said to my client but actually, all I said was one sentence…

“:-) Saying no to everything except anything that adds to ‘best wife, mum, coach'”

And that, I suppose is how to get everything done.

I simply and very viciously cut everything out of my life that does not get me where I want to go.

There are 3 areas in my life that take precedence over EVERYTHING!

BEST WIFE

BEST MUM

BEST COACH to 334k

That is it.

If things do not in some way get me to these three priorities then they get removed from my life or fit into the very small crevices of ‘free’ time.

It does mea
I say ‘no’ quite often to things and people

It does mean that I am pretty difficult to live with at times because i refuse to allow my time be eaten up by unnecessary things.

I am a bit of a diva and I no longer apologize for it.

I know what I want and I am done with pretending to be ‘nice’.

Honey, you and I get one life and if you are spending it doing everything except what you really want to do, then just stop!

Stop fighting yourself

And start listening again to the intuitive nudge within you that tries to keep you on your narrow path.

I used to do all that you are doing.

And I realised that 10 years had gone by and I was not where I thought I would be.

I finally got done with that and I STILL keep stripping off more and more of the extra things so that I am laser focused on my goals and everything I do, in some way, adds to them.

I even rest on purpose.

I don’t always get it right but I am not scared of making mistakes any longer.

I would rather learn from burning out, than regret not putting enough action in.

We are all dying anyway…

So, I choose to make sure my life actually makes a dent on this planet.

My words, my work will be impacting people way after I die.
