Let’s talk about PlentyofFish.com. You might be thinking, wait a minute, I’ve heard about this. Everybody got excited about it, and then it died, and the reason that it died is that people did not know how to make money with it.

You’ll find that with a lot of these traffic sources, people just don’t know how to monetize it. So, either they don’t know how to get conversions when they get people to visit their sites, or they just don’t know how to get the clicks to begin with.

With all the information that we’ve covered you should be able to waltz into just about any traffic source, even the ones I haven’t covered here, and really just apply those principles and do much better than your average marketer who just kind of like stumbles their way into one of these sites and has no idea what the hell they are doing.

So, for people like us who know what we are doing, PlentyofFish.com is wide open. It’s a lot more active than it used to be. Their user base is increasing every single day and I think it’s doubled since last year.

By the same token, fewer people are advertising on there because, like any situation, the folks who don’t know what they are after, they fall by the wayside. Now, the big reason why PlentyofFish is awesome, and I’ll tell you guys up front. This is the most expensive traffic source that we’ve talked about here. We’ve talked about Google AdWords.

If you don’t know what you are doing, AdWords can be ridiculously expensive, but with PlentyofFish, even if you know what you are doing, you are probably not going to be able to get your average cost per click down to just a few cents per click. You are still going to have to spend somewhere around probably $0.20 per click once you get it going, but that’s fine.

The trade off with PlentyofFish is that it is absolutely laser targeted in a way that you guys just won’t believe. They have targeting options that just aren’t possible with any other platform, and I’m including Facebook in there.

You can target by gender, age, country, marital status, and I don’t just mean single or married. I mean single, divorced, separated and even just got married. There are like ten options under marital status, which is amazing. Income, body type and if you are promoting a weight loss offer, you can just target people who are overweight. You know that’s something that you just cannot do on Facebook.

The thing about PlentyofFish is that most people are dead honest about all of these things. The marketing guys over there have done research about this and have found that, especially when it comes to body type, people don’t lie because they know that you are going to show up on a date to hang out with this person. If they said slim and trimmed on their profile and they show up, and they are 250 pounds, and they are like 5ft. 6, you are going to be disappointed. Most people are completely honest about things like body types.

Zip Code - if you are targeting offline businesses, ethnicity, it’s like white, black, Indian, everything. Their dating intent, what are they looking for? Are they just looking for casual hook ups or are they looking for actual relationships? Just the answer to that question alone can tell you a lot about that person’s mindset.
