“How to Heal Rage”
Written by Dr Paul Haider - Spiritual Teacher
A young man in his twenties gets cut off in traffic so he speeds up and catches the guy and kicks his door in. But he can’t stop kicking, he screams and yells and just keeps kicking. Then he breaks down in tears because he knows this is not who really is. Here are a few great ways to heal rage and find inner peace.
Do Some Counseling - First of all counseling is very important for healing rage. Someone who has rage usually has some kind of trigger that took place many years before. And that baggage has to be aired out and gotten rid of in order to find inner peace. This takes time, in fact it takes a lot of time but it’s well worth the effort. Find a good counselor near and start derailing all that rage.
Take a Anger Management Class - Every single county in the country has some kind of anger management class that’s given for free or for a small fee. And some judges mandate that certain people with rage have to attend anger management classes. At these classes people learn how understand their rage and deal with their emotions before they blow up. Plus if they do get angry how to deal with their anger in a positive way… so they don’t hurt any.
Go to a Free Vipassana Meditation Retreat - Going to a Free 10 Day Vipassana Meditation Retreat will help in amazing ways to derail anger. These retreats are even used in some of the worst prisons around the world with people who have terrible anger, and they walk out being totally different people. This retreat is 10 days of total silence doing meditation for 6 to 8 hours a day, by the way the food and lodging is also free. By the time this retreat is over most people have a huge breakthrough about anger and find peace. I have to say the first 3 or 4 days are difficult but then a huge breakthrough happens and everything changes.
Go to http://www.dhamma.org/en/about/vipassana on your computer (this site is not very mobile friendly) and sign up for a retreat being given in the future near you. And don’t put yourself on a waiting list because people always go to these retreats.
Read the Teachings of Buddha and Gandhi - Buddha was the first psychologist who taught about how to deal with our own feelings and desires, and how to deal with our anger and find peace. There are thousands of pages of writing about the teachings of Buddha that are amazing, read as many of them as you can. And Gandhi was the first person to talk about changing the world without the use of violence. And he too has great wisdom about how to deal with anger.
The whole process is all about healing the God within and finding inner peace.
Many Blessings to Everyone!
