Want to learn how to improve self confidence? Here's an amazingly effective tip on how to improve self confidence in just about any situation. It's the power of cues. Many actors prepare for big or important scenes by focusing on their cues and you can to. Here's exactly how to improve self confidence using this success technique. 1. Identify the important cues that happen right before your important event. This isn't hard to do. It should be easy for you to identify the events in a day that usually create anxiety or lack of confidence for you. Now ask yourself, what happens immediately before the event kicks off? What small event can you lock on now that will be your "confidence trigger" for that event. For me, I have several cues that I identify each day where I want to immediately trigger a peak performance state of mind - sitting down for the first time in my office chair, picking up a menu at a restaurant, walking through the door at home after a long day. Quick tip on how to improve self confidence with this technique - Pick the cues that will serve as your triggers but don't get carried away. You only want three to four per day. If you get carried away with cues your day will feel too rigid or scripted. 2. Mentally rehearse what you will do immediately after the cue is triggered. The next step in learning how to improve self confidence is to visualize exactly how you want to react after the cue occurs. Ask yourself - What is the best possible reactio I want to have after the cue is triggered? If you're working on building your confidence in that situation you obviously want to feel confident. Visualize the trigger happening now in your mind and you acting with extreme confidence. How will you speak confidently when the trigger goes off? How will you breathe and stand or sit confidently? The more details you can include here the better. See the trigger then immediately feel yourself infused with power and confidence. Rehearse this in your mind multiple times if necessary so that confidence becomes automatic and you default to a strong sense of confidence immediately after the trigger. Lack of confidence is often created by events happening that you aren't prepared for, but if you learn this technique to build self confidence that you will get rid of the feelings of surprise or unpreparedness that can lead to a lack of confidence. 3. Activate the feelings of confidence immediately after the trigger occurs. As soon as the cue happens immediately pull up the confident images you visualized earlier. Your mind should be programmed with these thoughts and feelings so it shouldn't be hard to do. Remember - the cue needs to be followed immediately by the rehearsed response. For me, I visualize my reactions so vividly that the simply feeling of my hand touching my cue items - a chair or door knob immediately triggers the positive reactio I was looking for. That's it! The amazing power of cues is now at your disposal and you now know how to improve self confidence. Best of luck and I wish you great success!!
