Grab the sharpest pencil in your house.

If it’s not sharp, sharpen it.

Got your pencil? Great.

Now grab a notebook.

Write down a list of the 25 things that bring you the most joy in life. It can be anything. Activities, food, people.

Now take a pen and trace over the top 5 things which you really love. These should be the things you wouldn’t be able to live without.

For me they’re:

Creating
Learningr
People (relationships)
Being healthyr
Legacyr
Have you got your list of 25 things with 5 traced over in pen yet?

Good.

Flip your pencil and erase the whole page. Everything.

What do you see?

You should see 5 things. Five lines of ink.

Tear that page out of your notebook and hang it on your wall.

Set it as your phone background.

Photocopy the page, roll it up and smoke it. Suck it all in.

If you want to improve yourself, those five things are now your oxygen. You have to live and breath them.

Don’t worry about the rest. They’re erased. These are the things you couldn’t live without. Start acting like it.

Why 5?

You can choose less if you want. But 5 gives you ~20-years on each. Enough improvement for a lifetime.

Enough time to be the healthiest, most creative, most wise, most loved and most admired 100-year-old on Earth.
