Dieting and exercising for weight loss is not easy, and if that were not enough, there is also always the issue of some people constantly discouraging you. Sometimes, you start to doubt whether you even have the capability to achieve your dream body since you have never even managed to lose weight effectively ever before. It is thus easy for one to then be demoralized and lose motivation.
Whether you like it or not, weight loss consists of both a physical as well as a mental part! The mental issues are exactly what I am going to help you in overcoming in this article. It is easy to get motivated to lose weight when you see lean, fit and slim people walking all around. They seem to get the all the attention of the opposite gender easily, which is unfortunately not yet the case with you. Over time, the very reason which originally motivated you may now become the reason you feel depressed and not confident in yourself! You get the feeling as if you can never look the same as these people and get similar treatment, and soon you lose the confidence needed to help you push through to eventually lose weight successfully!
To make things worse, there will always be 'friends' out there who will secretly or openly laugh at you whenever you mention your weight loss goals, or try to put you down. You need to be above such negative comments, and realize that they are just being jealous you have a goal in life and are working hard towards it. These people most probably have never managed to lose weight successfully, and that is also exactly the reason why they try to make you think that you will not be able to either.
The technique I wish to introduce you is called the power of association. This concept suggests that the five people, be it family or friends, you are closest to will have the greatest impact on the type of character you will turn out to have! If all five of them are confident and have goals in life and work hard towards them, you will start to be increasingly more like them too! This is also the reason why you notice rich people hang out with rich people, and fit people hang out with other lean and fit people. This is not an effect, it is a cause. Fit people usually prefer to hang out with other fit people as they will have more common topics and beliefs! Also, people who constantly hang out around fit people will feel pressured to look fit and eventually work hard to look the same too! If some of your friends are very positive or motivating, associate more with them!
