Life is a gift that we can make into what we want. It is all about choices. Choice is the chisel with which we sculpt our future life. Choices can be good or bad, so every choice you make can either catapult you closer to your objectives or drift you farther away. Choice does not come free even though everyone yearns to have a choice all the time. It comes with responsibility. However, once you carry out your responsibilities, you get a reward, the reward of happiness. But how can you make choices you will be happy about in your life?
Know the End of the Tunnel
For every decision you make in life, there are outcomes. Not all your choices are about morality. Sometimes they are all about intelligence. Depending on the end point of something, you will be able to make a positive or a negative choice.
For instance, if your friend is asking you to join smoking, it is not necessarily your morals that guide the decision you take. Either intelligence or stupidity will guide your decision. The best way to make the right decision is to use your intelligence. If you consider the ending of smoking, you will make the right decision.
Choose to Do What You Can
There is a difference between doing what you can do and what you want to do. Your wants, like those of every other human being are insatiable. Therefore, if you choose to do what you want to do, you will end up doing everything, which is impossible.
Always choose goals that you have time for and are worthwhile. Time is a limited resource, so you cannot do everything to become everything at the same time. Start with tasks that are very important to you, and then focus on the minor ones later. Do not waste time doing things you cannot accomplish.
Look for the Good in Your Decisions
Life has many hardships to serve on its plate, but nothing is too difficult with determination and the right attitude. Even in dire conditions, you can find the right something positive, something good to look at or do. If you look for something good, you will find some good, but if you are looking for something to complain about, then you will surely find it. That is the difference between making good and bad decisions.
Change Yourself if You Can’t Change Your Circumstances
You have a greater control of what you can be, and less control of what will happen to you. Therefore, every person can choose to have the right attitude or choose to have a negative one. Try to see all challenges as opportunities and not problems. This will help you make the right choices.
