To put an end to panic attacks, you have to learn first the occurrences of your attacks. Panic or anxiety attacks have different causes or triggers. Some are having attacks during severe stress, in events requiring them to face and render speech in front of a big crowd, in social conversation and parties. Others confide that they have attacks when they are depressed and feel alone. It is important that you find out what causes your attacks to prevent future attacks. Knowing your triggers will help you prepare, prevent and put an end to panic attacks.

Breathing Techniques. Proper breathing techniques will help you put an end to panic attacks. Slow abdominal breathing is helpful during attacks, it is when your stomach is rising when you inhale and falling when you exhale. You may find it difficult at first as people in panic usually breathes into their chests, but if you keep on practicing, abdominal breathing will help you calm down, control your emotions and put an end to panic attacks.

Relaxation Techniques. Learning how to relax and release tension during panic or anxiety attacks will help you put an end to panic attacks. You can visualize yourself in a calm, safe place and situation. Imagine yourself peacefully walking in a beach listening to the calm waves or just sitting under a tree listening to the sounds of singing birds while the wind is slowly blowing your hair. The key here is to try to relax and refocus your thoughts to calm situations and not on your fears to put an end to panic attacks.

Avoid Caffeine and Nicotine. Proper diet and healthy living is important. Food and vices plays a very important role in your nervous system and the way you react to situations. If you take too much stimulants like caffeine and nicotine, it will increase nervousness and you may find it hard to put an end to your panic disorder.

Get enough rest and sleep. A well rested body has high capability to take control in situations like panic or anxiety attacks. You can think clearly and you have the presence of mind to do what is necessary to put an end to panic attacks.

Seek professional help. If you cannot handle your panic or anxiety attacks don't be afraid to seek professional help. There are a lot of sources you can turn to for assistance to help you put an end to panic attacks.
