The cat scratch disease is a bacterial infection caused by a cat's bite or scratch. It can also be the result of a cat licking an open wound on your body. Cats get the bacteria from fleas, and pass it on to people via their saliva Cat scratch disease is harmless to the cat but it is harmful to people who have been bitten, licked or scratched by a cat.nnSymptoms of Cat Scratch DiseasennPeople who suffer from cat scratch disease predominantly experience the swelling of the lymph nodes. Other symptoms may include sore throat, fever, headache, fatigue or loss of appetite.nnTreatment of Cat Scratch DiseasennAlmost all occurrences of cat scratch disease will heal on their own. You could take Tylenol or Advil to decrease the soreness as well as applying a warm compresses onto the lymph nodes. When in doubt, consult a doctor to seek treatment because some of the more serious cases of cat scratch disease may require prescription antibiotics to heal.n nPrevention of Cat Scratch DiseasennYou could easily avoid getting cat scratch disease if you know how to prevent getting bitten or scratched by a cat. A cat is telling you to heal when it shows any of the following warning signs like hissing, harmlessly swiping you, moving their ears backwards or meowing in an angry tone. Secondly, always remember to wash your hands after you have touched a cat. Thirdly, wash your wound as mentioned earlier if you have been bitten or scratched by a cat.
