Learn more about DISC Personality Profiles. We'll show you how to add value to your students and enhance any Consulting, Teaching, Training or Coaching process by first getting acquainted with them and showing them how to "people-read" in every area of their lives! People-Reading shows you what underlies and drives each different personality or behavioral style type and makes you much more effective, whether teaching, selling, parenting, or just relating to another human being! What is DISC? DISC is a very powerful four-quadrant, needs-behavioral personality profiling model whose underlying theory was developed in the work of Dr. William Moulton Marston, a behavioral psychologist who was passionate about learning what needs drive each of the four very different observable behavioral style types. He compiled his research in his textbook: "The Emotions of Normal People." The name "D I S C" represents the initial letters of the names he gave to the four major observable style types: * (D) Dominance of problems - people who need to control, maintain power and assertiveness. * (I) Influence of people - people who love social situations, friendship, and communicating * (S)Steadiness of the pace of the environment - people who thrive with patience, persistence and thoughtfulness. * (C) Compliance to procedures and rules - people who need to be correct by having all the facts. Why DISC as a Primary Personality Profiling Instrument? DISC is self-evaluated to be one of the most accurate, most reliable and most consistent Personality Profiling models in the world. The profile provides more than just a simple set of words that 'define' your personality. The full DISC profile details the observable behaviors, including your strengths and weaknesses, as well as your needs and fears. You also receive full coaching or debriefing on your profile, to best understand all the revealing information. DISC also can be profiled against any job to show what personality style is best suited to that role. How DISC works DISC requires that you first complete a simple questionnaire comparing four behavioral descriptions and choosing which of the four is Most frequently reflected in your actions and which are Least frequently like you . You answer the questions honestly, thinking of yourself at work or at home or in a relationship and then focusing on that throughout the profile. If you want to discover more about yourself in another role, then choose a different focus and take another profile a couple days later. You will receive your results on line through our highly scientific -yet easy to use - on-line profiling service. It is always best to have a professional interpretation or Debrief the first time you learn about DISC and what the graph and report says about you. Share your report with others and let them know how you like to be treated or related to. (If you don't tell them, who will? Besides, your style is no secret to anyone who knows you already. Your personality and observable behaviors come through the door when you do!) What DISC Can Give You * A powerful understanding of yourself and others * A clearer insight into interpersonal behaviour and relationship dynamics * Realization of the impact of your personal behaviour on others * Insight into your model of the world, increasing personal and professional effectiveness and success * A useful tool to help you assess everyone's behavioral style * A method for planning your approach to all personal and professional interactions * A way to maximize your potential in any given situation.
