Learning how to wake up early and not feel tired is something a lot of us have had to struggle with all our lives. It may have started when we were in high school - when we first discovered the joys of cable TV or when we realized just how fun it could be to surf the Inte et all night. Unfortunately, this makes us groggy and irritable the next day; and functioning at work or at school becomes next to impossible. If we really want to make a change, we need to come up with a plan and stick with it. To learn how to wake up early and not feel tired, read on! Tip # 1: Sleep Earlier. This really is the best way to make sure you’re not too tired the next day. The Inte et can wait another day - preferably on a Friday if you don’t have anything lined up for Saturday morning. Of course, if you’re not used to sleeping by 9 pm, then it’s going to take you a lot of self-discipline to start sleeping earlier. Don’t push yourself on the first night. Do it gradually. If you’re used to sleeping past midnight, try to hit the hay at around 11 pm. After a few days, try going to bed at around 10:30 pm. After every few days, try to sleep a little earlier than before. This way, you can slowly form the habit of sleeping early. Tip # 2: Relax. You already know you need to sleep early if you want to wake up early and not feel tired. But what if you have a hard time hitting the snooze button? Well, the key is to be in relaxation mode a few hours before bedtime. As soon as you get home, forget about work. Discard all thoughts of work from your mind. Avoid exercising intensely a few hours before going to sleep, as it could “awaken” your system. You’re not a robot; you need to give yourself proper downtime. Try drinking some chamomile tea, valerian tea or lavender tea to help relax and calm your nerves. You could also try popping a melatonin pill, but make sure you ask your doctor first. Now when you wake up, don’t bolt out of bed thinking about work right off the bat. Give yourself time to slowly reach that state of mind. Exercise and stretch your muscles in the morning, eat a leisurely breakfast, and if you have time, read or listen to inspiring messages. Tip # 3: Don’t Overexert Yourself. Sometimes, you feel tired as a result of months of working too hard. If you want to wake up early and not feel tired, it might take you a while. Start by not overexerting yourself today and maintain that pace for as long as you can. When your body can’t seem to get any rest, it’s a sign that you’ve pushed yourself too far. It needs time to recuperate. These are just some of the tips on how to wake up early and not feel tired. Proper rest and nutrition is important, but so is your state of mind.
