For lots of spiritual practitioners, writing marketing copy can be a downright painful process. You know that you can deliver a great workshop, but how do you put that in words to create marketing copy that will actually get people in the door?
Relax, there's a simple formula you can use to write compelling workshop descriptions effortlessly. And the best news is that once you've created your description using this guide, you can repurpose it for everything from fliers to press releases to promote your event.
Step #1: Brainstorm Workshop Benefits
Your workshops should always be focused on the benefits your guests will receive. So before you do anything else, sit down and brainstorm a list of all the benefits you'll deliver at your workshop.
Step #2: Create a List of High Impact
Bullet-Points
From your list of benefits, pull out the top 3 to 5 points. You may want to combine a few or reword them so that they're really impactful. But these 3 to 5 points will be the basis around which you write all of your workshop copy!
Step #3: Write a Description Around Your Bullet-Points
Once you've got your main points, simply write some supporting copy around them. Play up the workshop benefits and give a feel for what the workshop will include without repeating your bullet point. And always include a call to action that tells people how to take that next step (i.e. sign up for your workshop).
Step #4 ~ Write Your Workshop Title LAST
Workshop titles are like headlines. They've got to grab people's attention and make them want to read more. Like your bullet points, your workshop title should be benefits-rich.
Step #5 ~ Repurpose It!
Once you're got your compelling workshop description written, you've got the basis for all of you marketing copy. With just a few tweaks, you can use this description as web copy, for fliers, in press releases and on social media. Just plug in the description and Voilà !
