Do you realize that you have all the power you need, within yourself, to lead your life in the way that you choose? Sometimes it can be difficult to determine what direction to go with your life, when you did not understand that the one person with the ultimate control over your life is you. Leading your life in a manner that makes you fulfilled, empowered, and joyful is as straightforward (and as complex) as making the decision. To start being your own leader, consider the following: What is in your heart? Your heart holds your values and tells you what is important in your life. Knowing what is essential to you, and what your values are, can be a vital first step to becoming the leader you want in your life. When you know your own values, you can lead with confidence. If you have spent a lot of time doing what other people want you to do, and not learning what resides in your heart, take time out now to examine your values. Knowing your own values is your gateway toward getting out of survival mode and into thrive mode. Are you conducting your life mindfully? Once you know what your values are, it is essential to live in a way that advances those values in your life. If you are living life in survival mode, then you make reactive choices instead of active choices. Learning to make active choices in your life is essential to becoming responsible for your life. This is not to say you cannot be a free spirit. Even free spirits should not do things that go against their core values. It is necessary to consider whether you are reacting or whether you are mindfully considering your choices. If your choices align with your values, you are on the right path toward a fulfilling and successful life. How are your actions affecting your spirit? When you are living in thrive mode instead of survival mode, your life becomes a life of freedom. You will feel confident, empowered, and ready to take on the world, if that is where your leader is taking you. Mindful actions that energize you are responsible choices that keep you moving toward the goals that align with your values. These choices to live in your own way, your own life, are yours to make each day.
