Hungry for More and Getting Less?

So many are hungry in the world today. Droughts and famines are pervasive and many of God’s people have their hearts hardened due to their own hunger.
Hunger is not just the need to fill an empty stomach. Those who have the means are still not satisfied. They crave not just essential nutrition, but increasingly also junk foods and substances detrimental to health.
The thin, flaky manna in the desert, complemented by quail whenever the Israelites complained, sustained them for forty years! In fact, for all that time there was not one feeble person among them! (Ps. 105: 37)
No matter what or how much you eat, experience or strive for will ever suffice. There will continue to be a big empty hole that constantly demands to be filled.
The inherent hunger in every human being to be fed spiritually cannot be satisfied unless and until the Spirit of God Himself infill him.
“Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages… put it into a bag with holes.” (Hag. 1: 6)
God’s answer at that time was that He had caused a drought because His people had become apathetic in the middle of rebuilding the temple. The foundation had been laid but all work had stopped as soon as they encountered opposition. His instructions were to consider their ways and go up to the mountain and build the His temple.
What is He saying to you today? Your foundation was laid when you accepted Him as Lord and Savior. Could it be that you have become lackadaisical about building His spiritual house? Did trials and tribulations in your life cause you to turn your eyes off your Provider?
If the answer is yes, you may need to consider your ways, and check whether or not you have been more conce
ed about your fleshly appetites than going “up to the mountain” to worship Him daily?
The Spirit man inside you needs to be fed continually, and only God can satisfy that need. The church in general has become very feeble. It needs the same encouragement of old.
Ironically that message refers to the end-times we are in today! When they heard that every nation and kingdom will be destroyed and the Kingdom of the Messiah will be set up, the people were fired up to re-build God’s temple!
Are you hungry to see His Kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven? Are you filled with the Holy Spirit and on fire for Him? Then the Kingdom of God is within you!
You and I are blessed to be living in the day of the Lord. We are about to see His Glory come down and His enemies scattered! Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness for they shall be filled! (Mat. 5: 6)
“I am the bread of life; he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.” John 6: 35)

Secrets to Living the Life You've Always Wanted
It seems rather odd to refer to any of what follows as secrets. For one thing, the word “secret” implies that something is hidden and the wisdom below is anything but secret. In some form or fashion, you could find these in virtually any spiritual tradition. Second, “secret” implies that the spiritual wisdom that would lead one to the life he/she really wants is really only accessible by a few. And, the unfortunate tendency is not to regard your self as one of the select few. But, of course, you are.
