This problem arises due to hypersensitivity of the immune system to something in the environment. The substances that are responsible for the occurrence of this particular problem are known as allergens. These allergens mostly include pollen or a certain type of food that is not suitable to our body further causing allergy. Both environment and genetic factors may be responsible for allergy.
The problem of allergy is considered common nowadays and is not considered so dangerous.

- Observing symptoms
- Physical exam
So above are the methods that are considered best for diagnosing the type of allergy .The only way is to prevent contact with the allergens so as to cure the symptoms.
But the other ways include proper diet and some home remedies that are considered effective in providing the relief.

Yogurt
- Yogurt is full of probiotics and contains bacteria that are similar to bacteria which is present in the digestive tract. This can help to regulate immune system and decreases the allergy symptoms.
Omega-3
- Consuming omega-3 rich products is helpful in reducing asthma symptoms.
Fresh fruits and vegetables
- Fresh fruits and vegetables are considered to be anti-inflammatory that are considered affective in relieving the allergies.
Pungent spices:
- These spices contain anti-inflammatory and anti bacterial properties. The mixture of horseradish, apple cider vinegar and lemon juice can be used as a mucus dissolving elixir.
Turmeric and Ginger Root:
- Turmeric is one of the best Indian spices that is known for its healing properties. Turmeric is also used to heal wounds and cuts. This is one of the oldest spices that is in use since ages .The mixture of turmeric and ginger root can be used for removing mucus and to relax sinus pressure. This great spice can also be used with honey for better results.
Apple Cider Vinegar
- This is considered to be the best remedy for removing mucus and relieving from congestion and sinus pressure. It is advised to take it with lemon and honey or it can be also taken alone (1 tea spoon, 2-3 times a day) for better results.
Nasal Irrigation:
- It is also known as saline irrigation. This is one of the best home remedy to clear the nasal passages with a saline solution. A mixture of salt and Luke warm water can be made and five drops are to be put in one nasal and let to be passed out through another. This will kill and flush away bacteria and will give a soothing effect to the nasal. It is the best method to reduce irritation.
Steam:
- Steaming is considered as one of the best way to get rid of runny nose. The steam clears the mucus and opens the nasal cavity. It will be more beneficial to add natural oils to the steaming bowl. Rosemary and peppermint oil are considered best. This will clear the blockage and will relax the nasal cavity.
Stay Hydrated:
- It is suggested to increase the intake of fluid and keep the system hydrated so as to get relief from the mucus and irritation in the nasal cavity. Drinks such as alcohol should be avoided.
Soup:
- It is recommended to take soup to ease congestion. There are varieties of soups that can be taken such as chicken or vegetable soup. Fresh herbs can be added in them to provide a medicinal effect and get relief from the problem of sinus.
