If your life ended today are you complete?
What a morbid question to pose one might think. Yet, if you really think about it, what a perfect question to ask ourselves to make sure we are completely in resolve with all we need to be.
Equally, this question is such that it keeps our awareness at a level that if someone we love should depart from the physical realm we would not feel as if there was something we should have said, done or completed.
Sure, we can always do more with each passing day, but the true test of how complete our life is depends on how we conduct ourselves from day to day.
Are there days where you say to yourself, "I really should visit mom," only to let another day pass by without as much as a phone call?
Or what about that friend we say we will call "soo
". The reality is, soon does not exist. Neither do the "shoulds" we convince ourselves will somehow last forever.
It is when we live in the moment and know we are complete in each and every moment. If not, what are we willing to do the shift this into a different reality? Often it can be as simple as picking up the phone to tell someone we love them. Or, giving our full attention to those we are in contact with at any given moment.
It's not about living in the promise of tomorrow. But rather, living in the gift of today. The greatest gift we can give ourselves and others is the gift of now. Simple as this; living in the now.
