I know the way you can get
When you have not had a drink

Your sweet muscles cramp.

The Anam cara knows the way you can get when you have not had a drink. There are the voices of invitation calling you to celebrate with one more glass of wine that becomes several more.

For some people the face hardens and so does the heart. The muscles cramp and there is a tension that gives rise to anger. This is not how it happens to all people but id does move in that direction as the sweet muscles of the flow of your real creative self begins to cramp into an addiction.

This is a beautiful poem by the soul friend Hafiz. He is a mystic poet. He knows how you can get when you haven’t had a drink from the wellsprings of the Beloved. He knows that this sense of being connected to the source of all creation is the real holy wine of communion.

Hafiz is an anam cara to all. He invites you to come and drink with him. This is a different type of drunkenness. The hangover is joy and children never become conce
ed.

Everyday we need to set our intention to drink from the ocean of the Timeless. We need to take a personal invitation to the edge of the shore and be willing to be consumed by the flow of creation through a body whose muscles are not cramped by judgement.

Everyday we need to commit to going to the wine house. There we get a six- pack or a bottle. These are bottles that you take home and they are empty. Only you open them and the Beloved comes amidst the play of your unconce
ed child’s heart and pours and pours and pours into you all that is beautiful and unique to you.

Then you get drunk on the wine of the Beloved and you may look a little crazy. The people who then understand you are children. They are not conce
ed. While you are in communion with your friend these children run in and make faces at you.

This is how you get when you drink of the wine of the Beloved. No hangovers. Only the movement of love in action expanding forever as the flow of creation.
