“As we played during the ‘hide and seek’ dance, I received insights about a part of me that has been hiding a long time.” said one Playshop participant.
This last weekend, Julie Blake and I busted the myth that personal growth and self-awareness comes only through hard work, struggle and seriousness.
We laughed as we pushed fun buttons and waved magic wands to tap into our own inner magic.
We chuckled at the insanity of not liking our bodies when our body is the one thing we must have to be alive. We giggled at the craziness of trying to live up to expectations of what the fashion magazines portray as beauty.
We brought out our ‘big girl voices’ as Julie expertly guided us to relax and sing funny sounds that helped us let go of the mind-chatter around having a voice. The shifts in claiming our power were evident in how each woman made improvements in their confidence.
Is growth and self-awareness possible through joyful play and laughter? YES, absolutely yes!
How can you incorporate joyful play into your daily life?
The answer is simple; reconnect with your playful part of you, and express yourself. Look at life with child-like enthusiasm and go for it!
~ Laugh for no reason. ~ Sing along with your favorite songs. ~ Move your body to the beat!
If you haven’t allowed yourself to enjoy what you used to enjoy as a child, give yourself that chance to play. …And in the process you may want to invite that part of you to express more often to increase your connection with your intuitive and creative side.
I invite you to play more, and rediscover that part of you.
Quotes:
“The pinnacle of productivity is to never work; always play. This may take years to achieve, and happens by learning the distinction between resist, succumb, and truly choosing. Truly choosing transforms all activity from effort, struggle and burden, into effortless, flow, and play.” ~Marianne Williamson
“You will enjoy any activity in which you are fully present, any activity that is not just a means to an end. It isn’t the action you perform that you really enjoy, but the deep sense of aliveness that flows into it. That aliveness is one with who you are. This means that when you enjoy doing something, you are really experiencing the joy of Being in its dynamic aspect.” ~ Eckhart Tolle

Get Into Alignment!
When we first discover the Law of Attraction and the power we have to attract what we want, we often expect instantaneous results. Results are rarely instantaneous. This isn’t because God/Source/All-That-Is cannot deliver because once we ask; it is given – every time…without question! It is because we live in this time-space reality that allows for a “buffer of time” while we get ourselves into alignment with what we desire!
