Do you know some interesting questions to get to know someone better? Do you often find yourself asking the same boring, run of the mill questions and getting the same predictable answers? You don’t have to suffer this social torture anymore. Use the following list of interesting questions to get to know someone better so you can build rapport in no time. 1) Start With The “Favorites.” These are easy and interesting questions to get to know someone better, especially when you just met them for the first time. These will give you an idea of that person’s preferences and opinions. Here are a few questions you might want to try: • What’s the most played song on your iPod? • What’s your favourite time of the day, day of the week or month of the year? • What’s your favourite hobby or diversion? • What’s your least favourite chore? • What’s your favourite holiday? 2) Move On To The “If” Questions. These are hypothetical and interesting questions to get to know someone better; and they are more suited for one-on-one settings or smaller group discussions. The following are a few questions that may help you understand another person’s personality: • If you can eat only one kind of food for the rest of your life, what would it be? • If you can stay at a certain age forever, what age would it be? • If you can be invisible for a day, what would you do? • If you had the chance to relive one memory, what would it be? • If you can change your name, what would you change it to? 3) Ask The “Personals.” These are questions about another person’s life and history that you might want to ask to help you gain understanding of their character. Of course, you only ask these once you have established rapport with that person: • What do you think is the hardest thing you’ve ever done? • What is your fondest memory of your family? • When did you realize you’re not a kid anymore? • What do you miss most about your childhood? • What do you think is the best thing that ever happened to you? These are just a few interesting questions to get to know someone better and build rapport; you can think of more! Just remember to be careful when asking questions. You want to know more about the person, but not be offensive in the process. Being sensitive of other people’s feelings will definitely help.
